i miss the way your eyes matched the sky perfectly,
and in the centers they had little eclipsed suns of their own,
and i miss how my hand felt so secure in yours,
as if holding your fought off all the badness the world had to offer
i miss how the things you said were never what you meant,
they way "i can't sleep," really meant "i need you."
